A little flower watched a weed grow
“Why is it so big,” she wanted to know
We’ve got the same sun, same shade, same rain,
Yet that thing grows while I stay the same
When the rain stopped and the sun grew hot
The weed grew up, seemed not to stop
It spread its leaves and bowed to the sun.
The flower wondered, “will my blossom come?”
As the days passed by, the flower endured
Despite missing rain, its leaves matured
But the weed flourished more, was stronger than she,
and it stretched up to the sun, so tall, so lean
Then one bright night, when the sun had set
The flower was sad and silently wept
Then, in a moment, not a moment too soon –
She realized, opened up, and gazed at the moon!
